Operations Additional Services | Training Additional Services A First Responder program was implemented in 2001 in order to provide quicker response to our expanding community in order to increase the level of patient care with equipment to enhance our qualified personnel in our responding district. Our ambulance corps will utilize qualified personnel as first responders when travel time for ambulance crew is lengthy and dispatch information indicates that due to the nature of the call time is critical. Our department has implemented 5 sets of BLS equipment, including Defibrillation at locations were normal travel time of ambulance personnel exceeds five minutes. The cost of the program exceeded $20,000 and was partially offset by Grants received from the office of NYS Senator Michael Nozzolio. A Special Event standby, which will require a staffed ambulance crew may be requested. An ambulance crew standby request is typically for an event where a large gathering of people will be attending. Our most common requests are associated with the Victor Central School District, such as football games or other competitions where the VCS is the hosting venue, such as band and cheerleading events. The standby must be within the Town of Farmington or Victor. To request a standby for your event you should send a written request 30 days prior to the event date. Correspondence should be sent to the attention of the Director of Operations.
Our facility's meeting room is available for use by local employers, associations, and other not-for-profit organizations that reside within the
towns of Farmington or Victor. The meeting room may be scheduled when our agency is not using the room for our own benefit, such as for training
or membership meetings. The facility has capabilities for displaying both videos and computer presentations onto television sets or a projection
screen. The room can accommodate approximately 50 people. To schedule a date you should send a written request 30 days prior to the event date.
Correspondence should be sent to the attention of the Director of Training. An equipment loan closet is available to residents of the Towns of Farmington and Victor. Equipment such as wheel chairs and crutches may be borrowed at no cost. Blood pressure checks are available at our ambulance base 9am - 11pm at no cost to any individuals. |
