Operations Additional Services | Training Community Training Victor Farmington Volunteer Ambulance provides certified American Red Cross instructors for first aid, CPR, & AED programs for those who live or work within the Town of Farmington and Victor. The American Red Cross programs are designed to give you the confidence to respond in an emergency situation with skills that can save a life. American Red Cross training will help you, your
family, and fellow employees stay prepared for virtually any life-threatening situation. Choking - Course teaches individuals how to recognize and care for a person choking. Instructors use a "Choking Charlie" manikin provided by a grant from FF Thompson Hospital to demonstrate the latest techniques used to perform the Heimlich maneuver. Adult CPR (4 hours) - For the person who only needs adult CPR training, this hands-on skills training prepares them to respond to breathing and cardiac emergencies in victims age 8 and above. Adult CPR/AED is available in a 4.5 hour course with AED training included. Infant & Child CPR (5.5 hours) - Designed for those who care for children, either full-time or occasionally, this course teaches participants how to recognize and care for breathing and cardiac emergencies in infants and children up to 8 years old. AED Essentials (2 Hours) - This course Teaches individuals currently certified in Adult CPR how to safely use an AED to provide care for victims of sudden cardiac arrest. AED's are increasing become more available within the community & business environment. Community First Aid & Safety (9.5 hours) - Participants in this course learn to recognize and respond to emergencies including shock,
cardiac, and breathing emergencies for adults, children, and infants, heat & cold emergencies, sudden illnesses and poisonings.
Additionally, participants will learn first aid for everything from cuts and scrapes to bone and joint injuries.Individuals or groups should contact Victor Farmington Volunteer Ambulance to schedule training by calling the Corps directly at 924-3959 asking for a message to be left for the Director of CPR / First Aid.
